The only way to obtain mulberry is straight from the tree - no timber merchants supply it.  So I was delighted when a friend offered me some of his tree which was being cut down.  He got a bowl for himself and I got several pieces including this one.  Mulberry is yellow and has beautiful markings, so that it needs no further decoration.  This piece will either serve as something decorative or, as it is finished with non-toxic carnauba wax, could serve as a fruit bowl.
